A Wine World Special Tasting Event
Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc
With a light straw color, this wine opens with the soft aromas of melon and white peach, with an underlying note of pantry spice. On the palate, this wine offers a flinty first impression, evoking the freshness of summer rain hitting pavement. An initial tartness quickly dissipates, yielding to the wine’s minerality. Lean but with a fleshy fruit body, this wine remains dry and maintains interest with a lingering lime citrus finish.
Conundrum White Blend Wine
Blending wines was almost unthinkable when Conundrum White was born more than 25 years ago. Since then, this wine has attracted a loyal following and remains as inventive as ever. While the exact blend is under wraps, every vintage includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Muscat Canelli, and Viognier. Conundrum White is amazingly versatile, with intriguing tropical notes and natural acidity.
Mer Soleil Silver Unoaked Chardonnay
A pale yellow hue, the wine is well balanced and fresh from start to finish. The wine opens up with aromas of flower blossoms, crisp pears and a hint of honeysuckle. Bright citrus evokes the clean taste of Meyer lemons, which grow amidst our estate vineyards. On the palate, the wine is round and layered, with an acidity and depth that belie its unoaked character.
Conundrum Red Blend Wine
Conundrum Red features dark red varietals including Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. With a deep, inky hue almost as dark as blackberries, this wine opens on the nose with scents of chocolatey coffee, sweet oak, fresh plums, floral blossoms and the earthiness of a forest floor. The palate starts off soft, then turns grippy – it peaks with a combination of fruit and textural tannins, before being dominated by the character of ripe berries and plums. As the finish tapers off with the taste of blackberries, spicy notes add complexity to every sip.
