Nulu is a project of Kentucky's Prohibition Craft Spirits, which is making its name in Bourbon with quality, innovation, and experimentation. While their own distillate is still aging, they are sourcing exceptional barrels of aged whiskey from the renowned Midwest Grain Product (MGP) distillery in Indiana. This blend comes from barrels between 4 ½ and seven years old.
This small-batch release from Nulu is bottled at cask strength (114 proof) and features toasted French Oak in its finishing. French oak is finer grained than the more traditional American oak and imparts a subtle savory character that comes through in every sip. The palate features a lot of toffee and baking spice adding depth to the richness of the vanilla and caramel. It’s light on its feet, despite being cask-strength, and will be a great porch sipper through the summer.
